Vintage 4th of July Cards

Happy Monday everyone. I am here today to share a card I made for our upcoming Independence day Celebrations. This wonderful image was a freebie over at Vintage Image Craft via their Facebook page. They have lots of fun freebies daily.

This is a design I have used frequently for my vintage cards. It seems to work well. Definitely gets me in the mood for some 4th of July Celebrations!

Completely Christmas Challenge #18 Friendship Fairy

Good morning...Good afternoon I guess also, depending on where you are at in the world. I am a little late in getting my post up this morning as I usually have it up by now. Life is busy busy busy. But I love how my Christmas Card stash is growing every week!

So today is another day for you to play along at our challenge over at Completely Christmas. We are always anything goes...as long as it is a Christmas theme.

Our sponsor this week is Sprinkle and Sparkle. The image I worked with today is called Holly the Christmas Friendship Fairy. This is a great image for Friends or Family during the holidays. So be sure to check out the store over at Sprinkle and Sparkle.

Now for my inspiration.

The paper I used is not your traditional Christmas paper, but I loved the swirls and glitter on it and thought it would look good as background. I added a few gems and called it a day. Sometimes simplicity is best, especially when you are working with such a great image.

So check us out this week over at Completely Christmas. We would love to see what you create.

Digi Stamps4Joy - June Progressive Challenge

Hello! I am here tonight to share my card with you for the Christmas Progressive Challenge over at Digi Stamps4Joy. I have been very faithful every month to get my card made for this progressive challenge.

This month we got to work with a snow globe. I have been having lots of fun over at PicMonkey using some of their tools to modify and add to my images.

I added the bubbles to the snow glob to make it look like there was water inside. Pretty clever huh?
I used a real simple layout because I wanted my snow Globe to be the focal point. Hope you like it.

National Pink Day - June 23rd!

Did you know that June 23rd is National Pink Day? Well I didn't until it became or theme for this weeks challenge over at 613 Avenue Create.

Pink is one of my favorite colors. When I was in 6th grade, the movie Greece came out. You all remember the "Pink Ladies", right? Well, a group of friends and myself decided that we wanted to form a club called "The Pink Teens." We could not afford jackets, so instead we made little satin scarves. It brings back great memories. I thought about these times recently as I just lost a childhood friend suddenly who was one of the "Pink Teens." While we had grown apart as childhood friends typically do, we re connected through my card making. She was a supporter of my cards making hobby and even would even request special orders.

I was very sad to hear the news and the tragedy of her death. So in honor of my childhood friend, I want to dedicate my card to her and may she Rest in Peace!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo stamps. The image I chose to work with is called "JJ Coffee to go".  A fun image with some fun subway art to go with it!

So get out those pink supplies and lets see what you can come up with! See you over at 613 Avenue Create.

Vintage-Style Sweetheart Card

T.G.I.F - Oh how I love making the vintage-style cards. It is so fun to find and place all the little embellishments. These vintage images use butterflies often, and they are one of my favorites. Great colors and just love what they represent - change.

So I put this card together last night. It is a card that I can use for many occasion, birthday, anniversary, even a wedding card, I would think. Not traditional, but I think it would still work. Just an overall great Sweetheart card.

So here it is:

I don't usually go with the big floral embellishments, because they are so hard to fit into an envelope. But I figured this could be a card you could hand to someone or use with a special gift.

I am so pleased with it, I may try to make another. If I do, I will certainly share.
Well I hope you have a great day and a great weekend!

Non Traditional Color FALL card

Happy Wednesday to all my followers out in blog land. I am here today to share a card I made for the challenge going on over at Creative Bug on the Loose. Our theme this challenge has been Out with the old and in with the new. So I dug into my stash and used paper and brads that I have had for a while.

This is a new technique I tried with my card. I have been playing with the editing program over at Pic Monkey and this is what I came up with.

It is a non traditional colored fall card. I know Fall colors are the browns and yellows and reds, but the black and white leaves just looked so good, I decided to go with that color theme.  I added the tree and little bird  and added a few affects and this is card it the result of my efforts.  I printed it on glossy paper and when I went to cut it, It looked like an old polaroid pic, so I kept the top boarder a big larger.

I think it looks really cool, what do you think? I hope you like it and it has inspired you to play along. Don't forget, to play, you must use a Creative Bug Digi, but there are so many fun ones to choose from, I am sure you can find one you love! We would love to see what you create!

So what are you waiting for? Hop on over to Creative Bug on the Loose . We would love to have you play along.

Simple Pleasures by the Beach

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a fab weekend. I am here this morning to share a little note card I made over the weekend. I live in AZ, so we don't have any Beaches close by. Growing up in San Diego, I lived at the Beach in the summer months, so I sure do miss those times.

So I felt in the mood to make a beach card. I found this cute little Tilda image to work with.

I picked up 4 more copic markers last week, shades of red and yellow. So it was a good excuse to use them. Now, what is summer without Lemonade? It is so refreshing in the summer months! I even had a cute little yellow bikini sticker to add to the inside of my note card. I went that extra step and created the matching envie!

What do you think?

Hope you have a wonderful Summer Day!

Summertime Birthday Celebrations

I love bugaboo stamps. I think they are one of my favorite stores to get my images. I get very excited when they are a sponsor for one of the challenges I am a DT member on. I love how they have Friday freebies, and I have even been fortunate enough to win challenges where they have been the sponsor.

This image is a favorite of mine. It is called brat cupcake wagon. It makes such a cute little birthday card. Great for a summer birthday, because who doesn't love ice cream in the summer. My sister need a little girl birthday card for a cute little girl named Ale. I thought this image would work great, and I was right.

So lets celebrate Ale's first birthday! Hope it is a memorable one.
