Honoring Family

Hi everyone and happy Sunday! I wanted to share with you a burlap collage panel I made yesterday. Since we have Mother's & Father's Day coming up in a few months, I thought I would capture both and honor family.  It also gave me a chance to play along in the challenge over at A Vintage Journey.

They are celebrating their one year anniversary this month and in honor of that have chosen a theme of anything Tim. I have used several elements from the Tim Holtz collection, so let me show you what I did.

I started out by covering my burlap panel with tissue paper. I used Mod Podge to adhere it to the panel and then added some distress stain to give it some color. It typically takes me several tries to get the exact layout that I want so there were several rearranging of items.

I had this family film strip already that I created using Pic Monkey and chose to use the Patriarch as my main focal point. One of the cards from found relatives worked well for this. I created the Family antique flash card using a free image over at Vintage Farmhouse Living. She has some fantastic free printables. So if you have some time, it is worth the click.

I cut out the weathered clock image and distressed it using walnut stain and rusty hinge paint. I used this clock to frame my focal point.

I didn't want the clock arms to go to waist, so I added them to the heart die cut that I had covered using distress stickles.

613 Avenue Create - Color Bingo

Hi everyone! Are you ready for another challenge over at 613 Avenue Create? Here we go.

Theme: Color Bingo
Image: Father & Son

It is time for color bingo. What that means is we want to see creations using 3 of the colors in a row or diagonal. Now this of course is an optional theme, but hey why not play along. I challenge you!

I had lots of fun working with this great image of a father and son. It is one of many of the great images over at Inky impressions. We sure love it when you help support our wonderful sponsors.

So come on and play along. Can't wait to see what you create.

Pattie's Creations - Father's Day!

Happy Friday the 13th! It is time for another challenge over at Pattie's Creations. Now if you have not checked out her images, you really need to take a moment to do so. She has some fantastic digi's and it has been so fun creating with them.

This week our theme is Father's Day! Seems appropriate since we are just a couple of days away and I am sure that we are all making cards for the special men in our lives.

This image is called Fisherman's Delight.  My husband and son love to fish, in fact, they just got back from a fishing trip last night. So I thought this would be a perfect card.

So come along and play with us. We would love to see you use one of Pattie's images. There are a few freebies on her blog, so be sure and check that out.
