Act of Love - Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Day 4

Good morning and Happy Monday! I thought I would try to make you smile today. I know my little fur babies put a smile on my face every single day.  I have two Dachshunds and one Beagle. While I do love my Beagle, dearly, Dachshund cards are so fun to make.

This is day 4 of the Spring Coffee lovers blog hop. I went clean and simple this time, which is not typically my style, but I can do it, and sometimes they are rather cute. Wouldn't it be great if our little animals could bring us our first cup every morning?

I was looking through my sentiments and this one seemed to fit perfectly. I think I love this card! LOL!  Hope you do as well.

Hey everyone! I am here to share a card I made for the Design Team Challenge over at Riley and Company.  Angji has asked us to get Fancy and Fun this time around.

Ahh, February! The month of Love. Joy has challenged the Riley & Company  Design Team to create a non traditional Valentine's Day card. 

Don't get me wrong, I am all for romance, but when you have been married as long as I have, you will find out that humor is just as important.

This funny bones sentiment is called If you love something. I stenciled the background and added some cute little hearts throughout.

A Dream is a Wish...

Hi Friends! It is the month of Love! You are going to love some of the new stamps released this month over at So Suzy Stamps! But wait. Not only are we releasing new stamps, but Suzy now has her own line of inks as well as a Spanish collection.

Now I know that the Wishing Well stamp is NOT new, but it is new to me. So with the theme of LOVE this month, I thought it would be a great time to re share this wonderful stamp!

I also used the Judy Garland sentiment that worked so well with our Love theme this month. I wanted to keep that Vintage feel that I love so much, so I made sure to keep with the brown town in stamping as well as my embellishments.

I know we all recognize this sentiment. It is from one of my favorite fairy tales Cinderella. It combines both wishing and dreaming, which is the overall message I wanted this card to hold.

Riley and Company has a new name...Stamper's Ink!

Hi everyone! With a new year comes some changes over at Riley and Company, and those changes are a new name! Riley and Company has combined with Cornish Heritage Farms and will now be under Stamper's Ink!

So for our first Stamper's Ink challenge, the Design Team is challenged to use a stamp from Riley & Company as well as a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms.

 This cute couple is from The CHF series and can be found in the Domestic Love Stamp Set. It is perfect for some fun Valentine Cards. The sentiment is from Riley & Company Funny Bones series and is called Look Forward.

Riley & Company - Paper Piecing

It is that time again. Another challenge over at Riley and Company.

Paper piecing is one of my favorite techniques. It enable you to add such fun designs right into your images.  I thought a red and white polka dot balloon would be very subtle, but very cute. I also used the same paper to mat my image to bring it all together.

A Halloween Sweetheart

I sure hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday! I am here today to provide some inspiration for our challenge over at 613 Avenue Create.

Theme:  Use a Heart

Now when I saw what the theme was, I knew I would be making a sweetheart card, but when I saw this Lacy Sunshine image called Lizabeth Key to my Heart, well, I just got so excited because I had a great idea for a Halloween Sweetheart card.

Why not right? Love can be present for all celebrations, even Hallows Eve.

I had a lot of fun with this card because it was not my typical Halloween card, it had a mix of steam punk and a dark side. Purple and black colors worked great, don't you agree?

And I had the perfect sentiment for inside. Great for any sweetheart!

Crafter's Cafe - Favorite Movie Love Line...

When I saw the challenge theme for this week over at Crafter's Cafe, I must say, I was a little worried. Now I definitely know what my favorite line is from my favorite movie. I have no problem sitting through Pride and Prejudice to get to that last scene with Mr. Darcy and Lizzie. So can you guess what my favorite line is? It probably is not too hard to guess if you know the movie, and you are a romantic like I am.

Now, the reason I fretted over this challenge is because I wasn't quite sure how I would incorporate a digi into this challenge, but I did.

Vintage-Style Sweetheart Card

T.G.I.F - Oh how I love making the vintage-style cards. It is so fun to find and place all the little embellishments. These vintage images use butterflies often, and they are one of my favorites. Great colors and just love what they represent - change.

So I put this card together last night. It is a card that I can use for many occasion, birthday, anniversary, even a wedding card, I would think. Not traditional, but I think it would still work. Just an overall great Sweetheart card.

So here it is:

I don't usually go with the big floral embellishments, because they are so hard to fit into an envelope. But I figured this could be a card you could hand to someone or use with a special gift. 

I am so pleased with it, I may try to make another. If I do, I will certainly share.

Bit By the Bug Beginning - A New Bug is Born

Happy Wednesday, and that means a new release over at Creative Bug on the Loose. This month we are showcasing new images from the "Love is in the air" Collection. This week I would like to introduce you to "Love Struck Bear." Ahhh, aren't they sweet?

What a great image, you are not going to want to miss out on adding this to your collection. I stuck with the traditional Valentine's Day colors for my card. It seemed fitting for such a loving little couple. But you certainly do not have to limit yourself to Valentine's Day, this would be perfect for many occasions involving Love.

The image was cut out using a Spellbinders die cut called Lacy Circles. The bottom die cut is from Spellbinders as well called Asian Accents. Paper and Bow are from my stash. The sentient was a freebie from Desert Diva which worked perfectly for this loving Bear couple.

Freshly Brewed - Guest Designer

Happy Monday! It is especially happy for me as I am featured as the guest designer today over at Freshly Brewed. I found this blog and digi's a few months back and now make it a point to play along every month. I love coffee and I love making coffee cards, so it was an easy match for me.

But they also have some other fun designs and as a guest designer I got to choose a few to work with. Being that it is the month of Love, I chose a couple of images from their Valentine collection.

Crazy in Love

This first image is called Crazy in Love. Isn't she fantastic? She is so stylish and just so comfortable being herself. I have become pretty comfortable making easel cards, but this is my first shaped one. I used my Stampin Up die cuts called Labels. The paper I picked up at Michael's when it was on sale and the Chip Board was from Recollections.

My second card is also from their Valentine collection called "Love to the Rescue." Isn't he just adorable? I sure thought so. The chip board is from the same Recollection set I used on the card above. Everything else was from my stash. I have had that Valentine Ribbon for almost two years now, but works every year, lol.

Well, I want to thank Heather for featuring me this month on her lovely blog. I hear she is having quite a time with the weather in her neck of the woods, so hopefully she will be able to bundle up and enjoy a cup of that fine Java she loves so much!

Bit by the Bug Friday - Baby Angel-luv

Happy Valentine's Day! We have a special treat for you today. I would like to introduce you to Baby Angel-luv. This little cutie is a freebie over at Creative Bug on the Loose.  This little digi is perfect for Valentine's Day or any "Love" occasion. Being that it is Valentine's Day today, I chose to go the obvious route and make a Valentine's Day card. 

I decided to go CAS (clean and simple), but also used the pre colored digi so I actually went QCAS (quick clean and simple.) I don't know if that is actually a term, but I am going with it. I used white card stock for the base of my card and matted it with red card stock that had been embossed with my cuttlebug hounds tooth embossing folder. The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is from Created with TLC which I cut using my sizzix die cuts circles and scalloped circles.
