Faith

It is the 1st of December and the last PoP challenge for 2014

Dates are:  December 1st – January 4th
Theme:  FAITH
Image: Day Dreaming

Faith is an interesting. It is not an emotion, but something that is learned or taught. It is a belief that cannot be seen or felt and many times not tied to reason or logic. Faith can bring on emotions, like happiness and joy, but mainly it is the substance of things hoped for. The evidence of things not seen, as quoted from the bible.

Now, I am not an overly religious person, but I do have faith. Faith that my son has been raised and will do the right thing. Faith that my husband will be true to me and Faith that God does watch over me and my family.

For my DT inspiration I used an image called Day Dreaming. Every once in a while I like to try some of the elements offered over at Pic Monkey. I thought the light shining behind the image was a great idea for this theme. You will have to let me know if you think it works.

The sentiment is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.

Now I know December is a busy month, but we sure hope that you have time to play along. We have some great prizes lined up:

The sponsors and prizes for this challenge are:
  • A prize package of a $7 gift certificate to the Pickled Potpourri Designs store (good for any digital product), from our guest sponsors this month, for the post or project that the DT deems most inspiring of the bunch.
  • Three digital images from Fresh Brewed Designs for a person chosen in a random draw based on all entrants.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital Stamps for each person chosen as a DT Delight.
There will also be:
  • One digital designer paper (made to order in a few different ways) from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles for one lucky voter who leaves a comment.
  • One digital sentiment for every single person who enters the challenge.
We would surely love to hear what Faith means to you!

Freshly Brewed - Guest Designer

Happy Monday! It is especially happy for me as I am featured as the guest designer today over at Freshly Brewed. I found this blog and digi's a few months back and now make it a point to play along every month. I love coffee and I love making coffee cards, so it was an easy match for me.

But they also have some other fun designs and as a guest designer I got to choose a few to work with. Being that it is the month of Love, I chose a couple of images from their Valentine collection.

Crazy in Love
This first image is called Crazy in Love. Isn't she fantastic? She is so stylish and just so comfortable being herself. I have become pretty comfortable making easel cards, but this is my first shaped one. I used my Stampin Up die cuts called Labels. The paper I picked up at Michael's when it was on sale and the Chip Board was from Recollections.

My second card is also from their Valentine collection called "Love to the Rescue." Isn't he just adorable? I sure thought so. The chip board is from the same Recollection set I used on the card above. Everything else was from my stash. I have had that Valentine Ribbon for almost two years now, but works every year, lol.

Well, I want to thank Heather for featuring me this month on her lovely blog. I hear she is having quite a time with the weather in her neck of the woods, so hopefully she will be able to bundle up and enjoy a cup of that fine Java she loves so much!

Arizona - It's A Dry Heat

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I wanted to enter at least one more card into the Candy Challenge over at Freshly Brewed that has been happening all month long. I recently won some FB images in a card challenge, so I thought I would make one up.  I was excited to see that there was a cactus available. I have two great rubber stamps that I found at a used bookstore with an Arizonian theme.

In the summer, we get into the hundreds. The way we justify it is we say "It's a Dry Heat." We don't get the humidity, but it is sure like an oven. Once you get past 110 degrees though, hot is hot. It doesn't matter if it is dry or not.  I thought these would make cute little note cards.
Here is the other stamp that I found. What a great combination don't ya think?  You can enter up to 5 projects in the blog candy challenge, this will be my third entry.

Here is a picture of the blog candy. I think I will enter this card in a couple of other challenges as well.

May Your Cup Runneth Over

It has been a very crafty Day. I think this is my 4th post of the day. After this, I am going to bed. I am pooped!

Freshly Brewed recently had a blog hop that I participated in and I won this digi. It is perfect timing as there are several challenges that have the theme of "warmth" going on right now, and I get to also enter this as my 2nd entry for the blog candy challenge that Freshly Brewed has going on right now.

Here is my card:

For the life of me, I can't remember what this technique is called. Hopefully someone in blog land can remind me, LOL.

Here is a closer look:

The patterned paper I used to wrap around the mug worked perfectly. It looks like a cozy blanket. I cut out an extra heart so that I could add some dimension to the heart image right in the middle. I used these patterned papers on my digi darla card I posted earlier today. I think they worked great on this card as well.

Here is the blog candy being offered over at Freshly Brewed.

January Choose your Challenge

There are a few blog challenges that have become my favorite. One of them is Freshly Brewed. I do not have many of their digital stamps, so when I saw that the January challenge was choose your challenge, I had to check it out. It runs for the entire month of January, and you have two choices to inspire you, a sketch or a picture. One of my "fun" resolutions this year is to try and participate in more specific challenges, rather than the "anything goes". I like working with new sketches, so I went with sketch 114.

I have been on a Valentine Card day kick, so I thought I would continue down that path. Here is what I came up with.

This image is a favorite of mine and comes from Stampin Up. I found it at a used bookstore called Bookmans for I think $2.00. I haven't used it since Grandparents Day, so I though it was time to give it a little attention.  I colored the image with my Chromatix markers and used paper from the Recollections stack called My Favorite Things. I finished off the card with three pink gems.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I Love Chocolate

Happy Tuesday! Well I don't typically post twice in one day, but I just finished this card I have been working on so I wanted to share. I won this digi stamp from Fresh Brewed Designs and when I saw the current challenge they are hosting, I knew exactly what I would do.

I have this great rubber stamp that I have used for many occasions. It is a friendship stamp, but can work for birthday's or any type of celebration.

The challenge is over at Fussy and Fancy and the theme is CHOCOLATE. I have recently become acquainted with Fresh Brewed Designs and just love their stamps, so much that I applied to be on their Design Team. I am currently on 3 teams and am looking to take on 2 more. I have one in the works, that I hope to announce early next year and this one. I had applied to be on Kenny K's team, but was not chosen. A little disappointed, but that is OK. There are so many talented card makers out there, so I completely understand. I really like his images as well, so I am sure I will be playing along to perfect my card making talent and hopefully try again in the future.

Here is a closer look at the digi image from FBD and my rubber stamp sentiment is from Stampendous. I used paper from my stash and made flowers using my new Die-namics die cut that I purchased from MFT stamps.

It is a tri-fold card and definitely fits the CHOCOLATE theme. What do you think?
