Layered Cards - European Paper Crafts

Hi everyone and happy Friday. I know many of you struggle with layered cards, so I thought I would share with you a paper stack that will help you with that.

European Paper crafts has a paper pack called Romantic pictures. but it is much more than pictures. The paper stack has ephemera that can be added to your design to create a 3D look.

To see my complete process, check out my video below:

What I love about this stack is that each page has everything you need to create a beautiful layered card. It also has a picture of the finished card so that you can easily follow the example.

You can find everything you need in the shop, including the 3D foam adhesives to add the 3D element to your cards.

Follow the design, or create your own. The sky is the limit with these fun paper sets. Be sure to check out the shop for more themes.

Don't forget to use code: Monica for an additional 10% off.

Thanks for stopping by!

Humorous Valentine's Day Card

With Valentine's Day a little over a month away I thought I would share some non-traditional Valentine Day Cards.  Everyone has seen the cute ones and the mushy ones, but who says that a Valentine can't have some humor?

I decided to create a humorous Valentine's Day card that has some humor to it.  Using a stencil, some distress ink and a distress crayon, I was able to create this grungy Valentine's Day card.

I have created a video so that you can see my process for creating this card.

I have also created a list of all the products I used to create this card for your convenience.  I will be back in a few days to share with you a non-traditional color Valentine's Day card, so be sure to subscribe to my channel if you have not done so as of yet.

Vintage Valentine Cards Scream Romance

Running an Etsy store means I need to stay one season ahead. So while the rest of you are diligently working on your Christmas Cards, I have started my Valentine Cards.

Valentine's Day is the BEST occasion for making Vintage inspired cards. To me Vintage screams of Romance and Love, so I just love making these cards. I used several techniques on this card so let me share with you what I did.

I just received my Best Ever Craft Mat from Blitsy in the mail yesterday so I had to try it out. I started out by creating the brick wall using my new stencil from So Suzy Stamp. The two Distress ink's that worked great for a brick wall are Fired Brick and Walnut Stain. Distress Inks react great with water, so I added droplets of water and let it air dry.

Once the Brick wall was dry, I used gold texture paste with a stencil called Art Is.  I did not want the entire brick wall to be covered with the gold paste, so I used blue painter's tape.

I did use my distressing tool on the side's of my paper to add aging to my paper and adhered it to my base paper. Washi tape is always a fun element to add to vintage cards as they tear easily and can be randomly placed. I often use my washi tape to help balance my cards.

Once my flat elements were in place, I adhered it to a 5" x 7" card. Once on my card base I added an altered scrabble game piece and two heart die cuts that were also stenciled with the Art Is template.

As a finishing touch, I did curl up the top part and bottom part of my hearts to create a 3-D affect.

If you would like this sentiment, you can find it on over on Jennifer Scraps. If you need any of these supplies, they are listed below in my affiliate links or you can always buy it from my etsy store.

I would love for you to check out some of my other Valentine Day Cards. Hopefully they will give you some ideas as well.

Pattie's Creations - Sending Lotsa Love

Wow! can you believe that we are already into the second month of 2015? A new month means a new challenge over at Pattie's Creations.

Theme: Love

This is my first attempt at a box card. It was not as difficult as I thought it would be. These cards are so fun. I am sure I will be making some more. Pattie has lots of fun images that would work great on these cards, so be sure to go over and give her store a peak.

You have all month to play along. We would love for you to use one of Pattie's creations, but it is not mandatory...what is mandatory is to have fun!

Sure hope you find some time to play along!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

So Suzy Antique Phone

It is the beginning of a new month and that means a new release over at So Suzy Stamps

Image: Chatter
Sentiment: Small Je T'aime

When I saw this stamp I thought how ironic...a vintage phone with the word "twitter" all in the same stamp. Can you imagine what Thomas Edison would have thought about "Twitter?" We sure have come a long way haven't we?

I created this fun card as a Valentine. I used traditional Valentine colors and added the word
Je t'aime. I haven't added the inside sentiment as of yet, but I am thinking about it saying "Talk Dirty To Me?" What do you think? Yea or Nay?

Well as you ponder this question, I hope you also decide to play along in this months challenge over at So Suzy Stamps. Now remember, you have to use one of her stamps, but with this new release and all the ones in her store, I am sure you will find one you love. Personally, I love them all!

We have not had a lot of traffic over at the challenge, so your chances of winning the $15 Gift Certificate is pretty good! We sure hope you decide to join us.

A card using utensils...

During one of my travels to Portland, I went to a Farmer's Market. One of the people walking around was wearing a shirt with this funny saying on it.

Of course I thought to myself...Hmmm, that would make a funny card. I wanted to get it made up in time for Valentine's Day..so I finally got around to creating it.

My intent is to make you laugh, so I hope that I don't offend! It definitely is not my typical type of cards that I create, but sometimes you just gotta try new things.

We'll see how it goes over. Thanks for stopping by!
