Riley & Company - CAS Summer

Hi everyone! I am back with another challenge over at Riley and Company. This week we challenge you to create a CAS Summer card.

So when I think of summer, I think of bike rides...I had these fun vintage rub ons that I have had for a while so I decided to use them for my CAS Summer card. The sentiment I am using is called "Exercise bikes" and is a very fun sentiment.

So do you want to play along? We would love to have you.

To play create a card using Riley and Company images.  If you upload your card/project to Splitcoast Stampers please use keyword Riley1315.

    Toilet Paper

Hey everyone. So glad it is finally Saturday! Just popping in for a quick post to share a card I made. I love making coffee cards, but this time I didn't want it to be a coffee saying. I was rummaging though my Riley & Company stamps and came across this funny sentiment called toilet paper

I wasn't sure exactly how I would ever make  a card with this saying, but this image seemed to work perfectly with it. After all, it is just two friends talking over coffee...

I created the sentiment for the inside of the card. It is nothing fancy, but makes a fun sentiment that works for a friend card.

I have attached the JPG so that you can use it if you want. Just right click on it and save it.
Please leave me a note if you take it. I would love to hear from you!

Feeling Nuts? Go shopping with 10% off!

Hi Everyone and happy Saturday. Boy it sure feels good to create again. I was traveling all week and did not have any time to craft.  So I thought I would play a bit in my craft room today.

I wanted to make a fun, silly card today, so I thought the stamp Thank an English Teacher would do the trick.

    So Suzy Stamps: Store

Proper grammar is very important! and we have our wonderful English Teachers to thank for that.  This was a very simple, fun card to make.  I was at a used book store today and I purchased an old LARGE Print dictionary. I thought that it would be perfect to use in some of my cards.  I figured I would just scan the page I want and cut out the definition I want to use. Pretty clever don't you think?

The paper is from Studio Calico called Letterset and the typewritter is from stampin up. It fit perfectly next to the sentiment.

Now, as a special offer this month Suzy is offering 10% off. Each of the Design Team members got a special code to share with all our friends. My code is Monica10.  Truth be told, we do have a little contest going on, so be sure if you do find something you can't live without to use my code.

This is a great chance to purchase one of her fun stamps and participate in this months challenge. the winner will get a $15.00 Gift Certificate to the store.

Don't forget, you can also follow me on Twitter and Facebook. Thanks for stopping by.

    A card using utensils...

During one of my travels to Portland, I went to a Farmer's Market. One of the people walking around was wearing a shirt with this funny saying on it.

Of course I thought to myself...Hmmm, that would make a funny card. I wanted to get it made up in time for Valentine's Day..so I finally got around to creating it.

My intent is to make you laugh, so I hope that I don't offend! It definitely is not my typical type of cards that I create, but sometimes you just gotta try new things.

We'll see how it goes over. Thanks for stopping by!

Riley & Company - Monochromatic Cards

It is time for another challenge over at Riley and Company. This week our theme is Monochromatic cards.

Here is a definition if you need it:
    • Monochromatic colors are all the colors (tints, tones, and shades) of a single hue.
In order to play along, you need to use a Riley and Company image. Now, if you do not have any Riley images, be sure to check out Riley and Company Designs.   I am sure you will find something you will love!

This is a fun friend card using one of the funny bones quotes. Now I just have to figure out who to give it to.

    Want to play along?

If you would like to play along with us of course we would love to have you!

Santa can have a sense of humor too!

I don't typically make funny cards. But when I was asked to make a set of 10 humorous Christmas Cards, I was up for the challenge. I began looking in craft stores and on line for some funny rubber stamps, but did not have much luck. I have even bid on a few on EBAY, but have not been fortunate to win the bids. Then I had the idea to use some of my stamps that I already had and just add a funny saying or quote. This definitely turned out to be a more economical way to create some unique, funny holiday cards. It is funny what a little creativity can do.

I think that is why I love making these cards, it challenges me to dig deep and make something from my imagination. As I get deeper and deeper into this hobby, I am loving it more and more. I have to come up with a few more ideas, but here are a couple of the cards I have made so far.

The cards are tri-folds, that I designed. I have used this card fold for some of my fall cards as well.

This is a template I really like. Santa is from Recollections and Wanda is from Stampin Up. It is a birthday set, but I think it works well for this card.
