613 Avenue Create - Dr. Seuss Birthday

Can you believe we are in March already? 2015 is just flying by. Hopefully you have been playing in our challenges over at 613 Avenue Create. If not, no better time than the present!

Theme: Dr. Seuss Birthday
Sponsor: Lacy Sunshine

We are celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday! So in honor of that, we are making birthday cards.

This is a fun image for a little someone who is turning one. Isn't it fun? I colored it up using my Copic Markers and fussy cut it with my scissors.  I then matted it onto some pink paper that I cut out using my big shot and Nestabilities.

I embossed the pink paper to give it some fun texture and added a half heart doily on each corner.  A pink ribbon and happy birthday finished off the front of the card.

Now I did say we were celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday right? So I added this fun sentiment inside.

So ya wanna play? We sure hope so. See you over at the neighborhood and thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:

A Halloween Sweetheart

I sure hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday! I am here today to provide some inspiration for our challenge over at 613 Avenue Create.

Theme:  Use a Heart
Sponsor:  Lacy Sunshine

Now when I saw what the theme was, I knew I would be making a sweetheart card, but when I saw this Lacy Sunshine image called Lizabeth Key to my Heart, well, I just got so excited because I had a great idea for a Halloween Sweetheart card.

Why not right? Love can be present for all celebrations, even Hallows Eve.

I had a lot of fun with this card because it was not my typical Halloween card, it had a mix of steam punk and a dark side. Purple and black colors worked great, don't you agree?

And I had the perfect sentiment for inside. Great for any sweetheart!

SO...are you inspired? come on and play along. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Supplies:

  • Tim Holtz idea-ology Laboratorie Paper Stash
  • Purple & White card stock
  • Quick Kutz - Key to my heart die
  • Black  Ribbon & brad
  • Momenta Stickers- inside of card

Creative Knockouts - Use a Charm

It is that time again! We have a great challenge in store for you over at Creative Knockouts.

    Theme:  Use a Charm
    Sponsor: Lacy Sunshine.

Heather's images are always so fun to work with. This one was no exception.

I had this pink LOVE paper in my stash and she sure looks like a love child to me. It is funny how you can look at an image and just have a vision of where you want to go. I think this digi is quickly becoming one of my favorites!

If you can believe it, the tape o the side is actually printed paper. I found them on line and just love them! It was a great addition to this fun card.

I also decorated the inside of the card to match. The flowers were punched with two of my punched and completed my card with a charm. LOVE IT! If I do say so myself.

So what do you think? Have I inspired you to play? If I have, my job is complete!

Hope to see you over at Creative Knockouts!

    Crafter's Cafe - Water

    Happy Wednesday!
I am half way through my week and will be heading home tomorrow. Life on the road can sure get rough, we need time to enjoy the simple pleasures...which leads me into this week's challenge over at
    Theme: Water
    Sponsor: Lacy Sunshine

I had a lot of fun working with this cute little image, called Wix Summer Moon Fishing.

I chose the background for this card very carefully as I wanted to give the impression of a sunset. I haven't colored a Lacy Sunshine image in quite some time. Her images are indeed awesome, but very intricate and take more time than I have had. It was nice to sit down and take time to create.

    Here is a closer look.

Have I inspired you? I sure hope so. Hope to see you over at Crafter's Cafe!

    Completely Christmas - Challenge #23

I just walked in the door about 15 minutes ago from my business travels and am rushing to get my final post up as a DT member over at Completely Christmas.

I have been traveling back and forth to Portland, Oregon two to three times a month and I felt at this point, something had to give. I would have liked to step down from the traveling, but unfortunately, that is what pays the bills, so I decided to be responsible and step down from the Design Team instead.

I want to thank the team and especially Suzy for allowing me to be part of her wonderful team! I know they will continue to inspire us.

Our sponsor this week is Lacy Sunshine.

For my inspiration, I am using Flury.

It is a wonderful holiday image and just love it. The blue hair gives the card a cool sensation, just as if we were truly in snow.

So I hope my last post has inspired you to play along. Remember, only 117 days until Christmas. If you have not started your holiday cards, you still have time to play along each week~!

Completely Christmas Mid Month sketch Challenge 21

    Happy Saturday..
I have been running around or I should say, flying around like a crazy lady. I had to go out of town for work in Portland Oregon, which means no time for crafting. But I did not let that stop me. I took my copic markers on the plane and colored several images while in flight.

I got home last night and put this card together today..just in time for our challenge over at Completely Christmas.

The Boo Digi's are my favorite Lacy Sunshine images. They are so cute. This is Christmas Boo and I have made several cards using her.

I used my Quick Kutz die cuts to create the presents that go along perfectly with this paper.
The sentiment is from the Just Rite Cling collection called Christmas Trimmings.

Well, I hope you have some time to play along. We would sure love to see what you create.

    Happy Saturday!
It is especially happy for me as I am finally back home. I was in Portland, Oregon for about 11 days on business. When I am out of town, I have no time for anything but work. Fortunately I had completed several of my cards before leaving, so I was able to continue my posts, but not much else.

I do have a card to share with you today for our challenge over at Completely Christmas. There still is time to play along and get ahead for the Christmas Season. It is already May, and December will be upon us before we know it.

Lacy Sunshine Challenge - Use a Sentiment

Happy Hump Day...OK I have got to make a "Hump Day" card one of these days, lol. I had a little bit of a scare yesterday! While I love digi stamps, I thought I accidentally deleted one of my folders that had several of my digi's saved. I have individual folders for each of the artists so that I can make sure I give credit when I use them. Well, I won a digi from participating in Ike's World blog hop and when I went to save it into my Ike's World folder it was not there. I think I looked through ever folder last night and finally found it in another folder. I am not sure how it got moved, but I fixed it. For about 30 minutes I was really bummed as I thought I lost some of her images and I love them! I really should back these up on a jump drive!

Well it is 2 days before Valentine's Day. All my cards have been made and sent. Making them is one thing, but ya gotta mail them! My sister got her card yesterday and she loved it! I nailed that one. If you want to see that card click here - (Sister Card).

I have been working on DT cards and took a break to finish up my monthly Lacy Sunshine card. If you use one of Heather's images, you get the next one free. I love free, so I make sure I enter at least one every challenge.  The theme is "use a sentiment." That is an easy one!!! Got lots of those.

So here is my finished card:

I used a sketch I found over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp.

Since we are on the cusp of Spring, I decided to use some Springy colors to match the flower in her hair. Here is a closer look. I have loved using my copic markes for the skin tones. They have worked so well and really have improved the overall look of my coloring. The next set I am going to invest in are the black/grey set. I've got my Michael's coupon ready, just need to get over there.

Well, I hope that you like my card. I have one more (I think) progressive challenge card I need to finish up this month, but I still have half the month, so that should not be a problem.  Hope you all have a fantastic rest of the day!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

    Ends Feb 15 - Lacy Sunshine - #26 Use a Sentiment
Ends Feb 15 - Sunday Sketch & stamp - #193 (Sentiment is a rubber stamp)
Ends Feb 17 - Crafty Sentiment Design - Buttons & Bows
    Ends Feb 17 - TTCRD - ATG
Ends Feb 15 - Crafty Boots - Bingo (Buttons, stamp, white)
