Floral Collage Paper

It is always a fun day in the studio when I have new products to play with and try out.  I recently picked up the new Tim Holtz idea-ology Collage Paper and was anxious to give it a try.

The paper comes in three designs. Today I am trying out the floral design. I created this wall frame along with a couple of other cards.

You can click the link below to check out the step by step process video.

The floral collage paper is great for spring cards.  I also used Lindy's Magicals and some great botanical ephemera to complete my designs.

Here is a close up on one of the cards I created using the collage paper.  I also added some turquoise corrugated paper and a metal band to give the card some great color and texture.

This card has some similar featured, but I only used torn pieces of the collage paper as an accent and focused more on the ephemera as my focal point.  I also used some texture paste and thinlet dies to create a nice spring scene.

I have listed all the products that I used to create these cards below. Happy Crafting!

Mixed Media Cards using black embossing paste

Hi everyone! I am here today to share with you a new product that I have been having a lot of fun with. Black embossing paste creates such a dramatic statement on cards and canvases that I thought I would share with you a couple of projects i have created.

If you would like to see my process video, you can check it out below.

I created my background using Art Screen Ink from Heidi Swapp. I also used some magicals from Lindsey's Stamping gang.

I added some washi tissue tape to add more interest then added my black embossing paste with my pallet knife and a stencil from TCW called Mini Butterfly Meadow.

The embossing paste creates such a dramatic silhouette against the bright background. Finally I added a sentiment from the Tim Holtz Simple Sentiment collection.

Taking the Scenic Route

Hello friends! I know many of you are still getting snow, but we here in Arizona are starting to see some long awaited blooms.

If you would like to see how I created this panel, you can see the video below.

I created this panel to frame to remind me of Spring time in full bloom. I started out with a resist panel from from Heidi Swapp and added some Liquitex acrylic paint. Once that was dry, I added the Architexture chicken wire.

I fussy cut several flowers and images from Spring Showers Flowers on Ivory paper and adhered them to the panel using collage medium. I then colored the images using my copic markers.

Once everything was colored, I sealed the colors in with more collage medium and added an ephemera butterfly and chip board from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology collection.

Graphic 45 - April Easter Card

With the beginning of April brings another card and video tutorial in my series the 12 months of 2017. Hopefully you have been following along and have enjoyed the cards I have created so far.

I have been working with the set called “A time to flourish” from Graphic 45. It was released back in 2014, so some of the months may be hard to find.  I decided to create an Easter card that has flowers and butterflies.

I have created a video to show you exactly how I put this card together.

I used some chipboard pieces from Prima to add a little extra embellishment. The butterflies are 3 layers and were created using a punch from EK Tools.  Finally, I spritz some plastic leaves using some Fireworks spray called Bamboo Leaves. This created a nice shimmer and color to the leaves.

Things with Wings - SSS Monday Challenge

Hello everyone. I had this window frame sitting on my desk from my play over the weekend and I thought that it would work great for a card to enter into this weeks Monday challenge over at SSS. The theme is things with Wings and Birds and Butterflies work great for that theme.

The window frame is colored using Lindys Magicals and the background behind the window was created using Ken Oliver's Color burst. They are similar products and paired up nicely together.

I also pulled out some of my Tim Holtz rub ons to add more interest to the background.  I finished it off by adding some Spring ephemera from Tim Holtz' new collection.

I hope you liked my card and thanks so much for stopping by!
