Born To Roam - May Challenge for STAMPlorations

Hi everyone! It is that time again! Which means I get to share some inspiration for the May Challenge over at STAMPlorations. Our theme this month is cupcakes, and as you can see, I clearly chose to use the sketch this month.

The set I am using this  month is called Born to Roam. It is a fun travel set with lots of images and sentiments. A must have for those summer cards.

For the challenge, you can use either the sketch, theme or both. You can find all the details over on the challenge. Our prizes will be a $15 GC to the shop and we will ever choose 3 randomly for a $5 GC.

Don't forget that you can also use coupon Code STAMPGIRLMONICA for an additional 25% off.

Canvas Corp Brands - Destination Unknown

Hey everyone! I am here to share with you a canvas I created using some of the architextures as well as ephemera packs from 7gypsies.

I love to travel! Sometimes I don’t even know where I will end up and that is part of the adventure. I decided to create a wall canvas to remind me that there is always an adventure waiting and you don’t necessarily need to make big plans, you just need to go!

I created the background using Parchment Rub ons and Coffee Shop Glimmer mist and copper Crackle texture paste.  Once all my mediums were dry, I started to build my collage using ephemera and architextures from the 7gypsies line.

I also used one of the stamps sets called travel for my sentiment.

There currently is a call out for new Crew Members. If you want to be considered be sure to check out the post over at Canvas Corp Brands.

I Brake for Airplanes!

Travel cards are always fun to make. They are even better when I have vintage airplanes to work with!

Today I am sharing with you another image from The Travel,Planes and Letters set over at I Brake for Stamps.
Now while I love this vintage plane, I REALLY love this old fashion ticket! Such great details and I love all the numbers! There are several stamps in the collection to help create a background travel theme as well.

I also added some Tim Holtz rub-ons to add to the travel/number theme. I thought they made a great addition.

Coffee Lover's Blog Hop - Day 1

It is day 1 of the Winter Coffee Lover's blog hop! I love these blog hops as I know many of you do as well. I look forward to them every season!  I decided for my first card to make a non traditional Christmas card. I just purchased a new stamp from StamPlorations and I was anxious to use it.

There is a lot of traveling during the holiday season, so I decided to use my new suitcase stamp and combine it with Coffee to have a Coffee Travel card.  I used some fun printables from VectoriaDesigns to create some stickers and Coffee paper from Canvas Corp Brand to cut out the Coffee circles.

I grunged up the suitcases with my distress crayons and adhered my images with Vintage Distress Collage Medium. I finished off the card by adding some Tim Holtz Washi tape to incorporate a Christmas theme.

Summer Time means Travel Time

It his Summer time and that means Riley is going on Vacation. I have challenged the Design Team to create a card with a travel theme.

I am using Tourist Riley and I have paired him with "You're off to great places." I had a lot of fun creating this fun travel theme using postale washi tape both on the outside and inside of the card.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Team's projects. I am sure they have a big HUG waiting for you over on their blog.

Travel Passport Card

Hey everyone! One of my goals for 2016 is to be able to put these lovely passport cards into kits! Now I know there are a lot of kits out there, but these cards have become so popular and can be altered for so many occasions, I thought I would share the knowledge and supplies to create these fun cards.

There are a lot of embellishments that go into making these cards, and that is what makes up the detail. You will see ephemera throughout, sentiments as well as Tim Holtz rub ons.

These are greeting cards, so you will also get journal cards to share a little hand written note.

Each card has a pocket where you can add a matching tag, fun matching ephemera to go with the theme of the card, or even a gift card.

Now to really make this a passport card, you will need the post marks. I have all 4 So Suzy Stamps post mark stamps that always go in the back of these cards. I hope to release 4 kits next year and each kit will have one of the 4 stamps!

This card is available in my Etsy shop, as well as this fun fun little kit I put together. I found this Travel book kit at Tuesday Morning and decided to add to it to make a starter Passport kit.  The 6 travel stamps are perfect for passport cards, so I thought I would put 2 kits together. Now one is already sold, so I only have one left.

You can find the kit in my etsy store and be on the lookout for future kits in 2016!

I would like to share my card with the following challenges:

Destination Adventure!

I have been wanting to create a project for the current challenge going on over at Simon Says Monday challenge. I finally had some time today to play in my craft room.

If you follow me, you know I have made a few passport cards. Well, what better design to use than a passport card for a Transportation theme.

I had a 6" x 6" cardstock set by Momenta that was a travel theme. I knew that I would make a passport card using this cardstock, it was just finding the time.

Some of the other items I used were some of my Tim Holtz Idea Ology items along with a stamp set from Fiskars called Travel Ledger.

I have several more ideas for some passport cards. I plan on making several next year. Hopefully you will stop by and check them out.

Altered Memory Box

Hi everyone! It has been a couple of days since I have checked in, so I thought I would share a project with you I made about a bit ago, but have not had time to blog about it.

There is a local cigar shop just down the street from me that sells me his empty cigar boxes. I thought they would be great to alter and use for little storage boxes and house some of my cards. I am thinking about making some card sets as well.

I have never done decoupage before, so this was NEW to me, but I thought it would be fun to try since I love layering so much. I started by painting the box using Forest Moss distress paint. The paper stack I used is from DCWV and is called The primrose Paper stack.  I used Range's Glue n Seal to adhere the paper

Here is a close look at all the embellishments I added.  I wasn't sure how the stamping would come out, but I think it looks pretty good. I used the Hampton Art 7 Gypsies cling stamps and Teresa Collins Sentiment stamps from Fiskars.

I decorated the sides of the box using Remnant rubs - Botanical life quotes.

I think the hardest part was getting the measurements just right.

I have made a list of everything I used if you want to give it a try. I have made a few more since then that I will share when the time is right. But this was my first one, and not to bad, if I do say so myself.
