CAS Thank You Card

Hi everyone and happy Monday! I have been a little under the weather for the last few days and my creativity has suffered. So I decided to keep it simple this week and create a CAS thank you card.

The Thank so much stamp is from the Inspirational Plate #2 set and the purple flower stamp is called grunge lettered flower. This card came together very easily. I stamped the flowers using wilted violet distress oxide ink and the thank so much sentiment with Black archival ink.  To finish off the card I added some black Nuvo Crystal drops.

Lucky is a state of mind

Hello and happy Monday! I am here sharing this fun birthday card that I have had in my mind for a while. I found these little poker chip stickers at a craft sale and they have been sitting in my stash waiting for the perfect card.

When I saw this playing cards background from I Brake for Stamps, I knew exactly what I would do. While the stamp is one piece, it is easy stamped and cut to make four playing cards.  I added distress oxide ink to make the cards look old and added this funny image from half sheet 046.

Let's go Fishin!

Hello crafty friends. A few weeks ago i brought out my alcohol inks and was playing around with them. Now when you bring out those, typically you are going to want to make several backgrounds. They are a bit messy, so you may as well get the most out of them.

This background is one of the left overs and has been sitting on my desk for a bit.  I thought it kind of looked like a murky pond, so it was time to get out the fishes!

The stamp set i am using is a fun one from I Brake for Stamps. it is called Luncheon meat.

This stamp set works great stamped over alcohol inks, but is also fun to color. I also used some clear nuvo drops for the water droplets which made a nice addition. 

They layout was fairly simple. I used one of my nesting die cuts to cut around the image then matted it onto two pieces of coordinating cardstock.

A Perfect Bride

Hello crafty friends. I have several weddings coming up this summers so I thought it was time to start getting some of my wedding cards completed.  Several of my family members are going to the wedding, so I am tasked with coming up with different card designs for each of us to use. 

I love this image from I Brake for stamps called Silhouette Bride. It is a classic image that can be used again and again. 

I started out by stamping my image onto some card stock using my stamping platform. I then fussy kit the image.  I wanted the background to have some texture, so I embossed some white card stock and added some lace.

No Desire to fit in!

Hello crafty friends. I am here sharing a card I created with a sentiment that I just love.  As a crafter and designer, it is often difficult to find your style. Many times we conform and just try to "fit in".  

I have tried so hard to stay true to my style of crafting, and to continue to grow in my style of creating.

The city scape stamp that I am using today is from I Brake for Stamps and is called Full Sheet Travel. It also has the great block letters that i used to spell out CITY. 

The little vintage gentleman is called man facing left. He was a great addition to my City scene and i love how he is looking up at those tall skyscrapers!

Sister Birthday Card

Hi everyone! My sister celebrated a birthday a few days ago and I wanted to share with you the card I created for her. 

I used one of my new stamps from visible image called Sister Definition.

I decided to create a grungy black and white card using some die cuts, stamps and texture paste. For one of the cards, I used white texture paste which created a more subtle background.

For the second card, I used black texture paste, which resulted in a darker background. 

Both cards also had some black and white washi tape from Prima marketing. I stamped the Sister definition stamp with some white pigment ink and added white embossing powder.  I also added a black butterfly to the darker card as an added embellishment.

Overall, I was happy with the way both cards turned out, but I did end up sending my sister the card with the lighter background.

Faux Cabinet Cards

Hello Crafty friends. I was recently watching a you tube video where someone created a mock Cabinet Card. This of course got my creative juices flowing!

I re created the background of this old Cabinet Card so that i could stamp my image. The stamp that I am using is from I Brake for Stamps called Happy Couple and it is part of there "Photo" collection.

It took me several tries to get the sizing just right. I used Pic Monkey to help re create this background. 

Once i had the perfect creation, I downloaded it and re sized it on my computer. I then printed it out and stamped my image.

This card was a lot of fun to create! Hopefully I have given you some ideas for your vintage cards.

Grungy Mother's Day Card

Hello Crafty friends. I am here today sharing a card I created for Mother's Day. This card was so fun to create as I love creating grungy cards. 

I used the Grunge Letter Flower and Grunge Circle stamps from I brake for stamps. The Grunge Circle stamp was perfect for my background.

I started out by adding some washi tape and distress ink to my background. I then added some texture paste using the Tim Holtz tile stencil. 

Once the texture paste was dry, I added my grunge.  I outlined my washi tape with a distress crayon and stamped my background with the grunge circle.  

I then adhered my film strip die along with my green foliage. finally, I adhered my grunge letter flowers and glued some white pearls in the center. finally, I added a ticket and letters to spell out Mom.

Be my friend

Hello and happy Monday!I am here today sharing a friendship card using a beautiful sentiment from I brake for stamps.

The set is called inspirational plate #2. I am also using the ticket stamp that is part of the half sheet travel set. 

Sometimes I like to build my scene's around the sentiment, and this sentiment was perfect for a vintage friendship card.  I added several pieces of ephemera to add interest and finished it off with the two little girls.  

Collage cards are so easy to create and often times you can use left over scraps, when put together create a great card.

Distress Resist background

Hi everyone! I recently picked up a new product called Distress Resist spray and I was anxious to give it a try.  I was able to create this beautiful background using this product along with some distress oxide inks. 

If you would like to see my process video, you can click on the link below. This will demonstrate the product as well as my process for putting together this beautiful spring card. 

I pulled out my sewing machine for this card and added some layers to my distress resist panel I creating. The stamp that I used to hold the flowers is called Barrel and it is from I Brake for Stamps. 

I stamped it on some card stock that has some discoloration. It gave it a rustic look and really added to the details of this stamp.  I find that the distress oxide Walnut stain is the perfect color for this image. 

The barrel stamp is the perfect size to hold the die cut leaves and paper roses.  A perfect Spring Card!

What is your Lucky Number?

Hi Everyone! Today I am sharing a card with you where my inspiration was numbers. Numbers can be used for backgrounds or to create a great focal point.

If you would like to see how I created this card, you can check out the video below. 

The stamp that I used for this card is from I brake for stamps and is called Numbers background. I paired that background stamp with idea-ology Remnant Rubs to create a fun background.

This is a very easy technique and anyone can do this! I also added the theme "Lucky" to the card since numbers are often tied with some "Luck".

The numbers you choose can be both big like the ones I used above, or a bit more subtle as the ones I used in the background.  Whatever way you go, numbers are always a fun addition to your projects.
