Spring Easter Bunny

I have been crazy making Easter cards over the last 2 weeks and will finally start to post some of them. This little cutie is from the Digi Darla collection. As you may know, they recently closed down, but we certainly can still enjoy their great images.

This image is so fun, a little dancing bunny rabbit It makes a perfect Spring/Easter Card. The image is called Joyful Bunny1. I went with pink colors and am really happy the way the card turned out.

Here is a closer look...

And the inside...

Hope you have a fantastic Friday!

Vintage Mom & Daughter

Ahhh, Friday! Now we just have to get through the day. For many of you out there, your day is already over. Well, I am here this morning to share a card I put together yesterday for the Digi Darla Vintage photo inspiration challenge. I was just looking through some of my images last night and came across some of my digi darla's. So, I popped over to the challenge blog to see what was going on and saw I have one day to submit a card. I try to use their images when I play, but was not sure how I would do a vintage card. I also got some new toys to play with. I finally took the plunge and purchased some Copic Markers. It is a set of 6 markers called SKIN. I thought this would be a good starter for me as I always seem to have skin to color. I had a 40% off coupon and a Gift Card, so out of pocket was only $5.

I was very surprised at how well they blend. My chromatix markers have been working fine, but I only had one marker for skin, and I wanted to try some blending. I may watch some You Tube videos on blending today to see if I can get any hints. So if any of you out there have some suggestions, I am all ears.

When I saw this image with the mother and daughter, I thought I would give it a try.

The inspiration photo below gives you many ways you could go with this card.

Pearls, flowers, green, sure I could work with that. So here is what I came up with:

I had a sentiment that I was going to put on the outside, but when I placed it, it covered up some of the frame on the doily, and I really like the framed look. So may just go with this. I think this would make a great Mother's Day card...hmm. Will just have to wait and see.

Here is what I used:

Paper
  • DCWV - The Rustic Stack
  • Kraft-Core Cardstock - Nostalgic Collection
  • Off White card stock for base
Punches & Die Cuts
  • 3 floral punches for flowers
  • Sizzix - Tim Holtz on the Edge Doily
Embellishments
  • Pearls
  • Ribbon
Coloring
  • Chromatix Markers
  • Copic for Skin, mother's hair & pages of book: E00,E11,E93,E15,E18,E000
Well, I hope you all enjoy your Friday and the last day in January. Can you believe the month is already over? Wow, time sure flies.

L is for Love

I was very excited to win the last challenge over at Digi Darla's, I just had to play again. The challenge this week is Alphabet. This is a Digi Darla image called Sunbonnet Seamstress. It is a card that I had made up last week and had not had a chance to post, so this works out great.

The LOVE paper is from K&Company called Smitten and the checkered paper is from We R Memory Keepers from the Country Livin collection called Picnic Table. I used twine and a button from my stash along with the heart brads. The sentiment is from a rubber stamp set from TPC Studio called Vintage Threads.

Suzy Bee's Bloomin Challenge #12 - Sketch

It is Saturday...finally. Sometimes these weeks take so long to make it to Saturday. Well, we are finally here and ready to start another challenge over at Suzy Bee's.

This week our sponsors are Digi Darla and Broken Box. They both have some fun images, so we appreciate any support you can give them.

For your inspiration, I have used an image called Susanna Shopper. She was so fun to work with
.
Life is Sweet, Indulge

The sentiment is from Created with TLC and was one of their freebies which I think works fabulously. The paper is from DCWV stack called My Favorite Things. I have used the paper from this stack on many of my cards and it is truly one of my favorite things in my stash of paper. I colored the image using my new Chromatix Markers. Still working on my shading, but I think it is coming along.

So, what are you waiting for? Can't wait to see what you make!

Have you ever heard of a Wobble?

Have you ever heard of a Wobble? Well I hadn't until  my friend gave me some for Christmas. They not only add dimension to whatever you are using them on, they also add spring to the item. They are very fun.  When I was putting this card together last night for the challenge over at Digi Darla's,

                Wobble Springs
I saw these cute little wobbles sitting on my desk saying "use me please." So I did. The challenge is called "Copy Cat." A free image is offered up to play. I have this cute little sentiment from Snoopy's Homemade Fun that I knew would be perfect with it.

The sketch I used is from Mark's Favorite Papers and the twist is you have to use a Die Cut or punch.

So here is what I came up with:
The paper is from My Mind's Eye and the stack is called Bohemia. This stack has some great colors for masculine cards, and I used it on my last card as well.  The wobble is underneath the sentiment, so if you move it, it wobbles. I wish I could show you, but you will just have to trust me and check these out for yourselves.
