I was very surprised at how well they blend. My chromatix markers have been working fine, but I only had one marker for skin, and I wanted to try some blending. I may watch some You Tube videos on blending today to see if I can get any hints. So if any of you out there have some suggestions, I am all ears.
When I saw this image with the mother and daughter, I thought I would give it a try.
The inspiration photo below gives you many ways you could go with this card.
Pearls, flowers, green, sure I could work with that. So here is what I came up with:
I had a sentiment that I was going to put on the outside, but when I placed it, it covered up some of the frame on the doily, and I really like the framed look. So may just go with this. I think this would make a great Mother's Day card...hmm. Will just have to wait and see.
Here is what I used:
Paper
- DCWV - The Rustic Stack
- Kraft-Core Cardstock - Nostalgic Collection
- Off White card stock for base
Punches & Die Cuts
- 3 floral punches for flowers
- Sizzix - Tim Holtz on the Edge Doily
Embellishments
- Pearls
- Ribbon
Coloring
- Chromatix Markers
- Copic for Skin, mother's hair & pages of book: E00,E11,E93,E15,E18,E000

ReplyDeleteUh, oh be prepared to be addicted to Copics-lol. I watch the videos on Youtube as well. Thanks for joining us at the Digi Darla challenge blog, you picked a great DD image to use :)
ReplyDeleteI was just skimming the list of entries over at Digi Darla's and I'm so glad you joined us this week. You definitely picked up elements of the inspirational photo in it. I love the pearls in the centre of the flowers, that frame and the pretty ribbon. Aren't copics awesome for blending. You've got the right idea--keep checking out videos, search for colouring tutorials. If you can afford to, order the Copic books as well. Of course I say that, did that myself and I have had them 8 months and still haven't really had time to practice using them.
ReplyDeleteGood luck in the draw.
Hugs,
Lisa
