Three Layer Card - Chatter

Good morning bloggers! Hope everyone is having a great week. It has been chilly here in Phoenix, with some rain. But I guess that is better than the white stuff so many of you are still experiencing!

I am here today to share a card I made a few weeks ago and just have not had time to post. It is a three layered card and I thought this technique would work great with the new Chatter stamp released over at So Suzy Stamps.

The first layer of course was the entire stamp. It is a larger stamp so I used my stamp press. I like using clear embossing powder with my black ink because I find the black sometimes leaves speckles even if I am using my embossing magic pad.

Then I matted it onto black card stock and stamped another image. Once I determined where the layer would be, I sliced it and matted that piece. I then fussy cut the phone. I used foam dots to give each piece some height.

Here is a side view. I didn't want a lot of room on the sides so I made a not standard size of 6" x 4…

Cute Lil' Chick! - So Suzy Stamps

Howdy Howdy and Happy Tuesday! I am here today to share a cute little card I made with one of So Suzy Stamps she released this month
Image: Chick with Egg Store: So Suzy Stamps
I decided to make a cute little Easter scene using this cute little chick. It kinda looks like he is escaping with his Easter Egg doesn't it?  Maybe he is!

I cut out some chicken wire and a cute little picket fence and matted them on blue paper to create a sky scene. Then I stamped some grass and added some pink flowers and a little lady bug!

To finish it off, I printed out this cute little sentiment, and put my little escape artist in front of the fence. It is such a cute little Easter card isn't it?

Now this stamp along with several other new releases can be found over at So Suzy Stamps.

You still have time to join our challenge this month where our theme is Love. You must use a So Suzy Stamp, but you will have a chance to win a $15 Gift Certificate. What fun!

I sure hope you check out her shop. I pr…

Cornish Heritage Farms - Snow

Happy Tuesday! It is especially happy as I am here today with my very first post as a new Designer for Cornish Heritage Farms.
Theme: Snow Theme Store: Cornish Heritage Farms Image: Fir Tree Winter Scene Sentiment: Kindness is like Snow

For my card I used Fir Tree Winter SCene and the sentiment Kindness is like snow.  For my very first card I went with a very traditional black and white scene. I used a snowflake embossing folder for the background and a die cut for the framing of my image.
I also added a few little snowflakes with a small punch.

To play along, you can use a digital image or a rubber stamp, but it must be from Cornish Heritage Farms. If you have some of the older collections, those can be used as well.

If you link up over at SCS don't forget to use key word CHF73.

If you are not familiar with them, they have both Rubber stamps and digital images. You won't find any digital over $2.99 and many of them are only $1.99. They even have a $0.99 bin. So you definitel…

Family Numbers - A Vintage Journey

Our life is surrounded by numbers isn't it? Well, this was the theme this week over at A Vintage Journey. I decided to work with my favorite number, which is 5. The Number 5 represented the number of family member I had growing up and it is also my favorite number.

These card collages are so fun to make, I jump at the opportunity any time that I get. I happen to have the stamped family image from Stampers Anonymous "The Journey." This is one of Tim Holtz older collections. I just love the way it looks on glossy card stock that has been inked up using alcohol inks.

From there I got out my rub-ons, stamps, stickers ephemera and started layering.  What is great about collage cards is there really is not right or wrong. You just keep layering until you get the exact look that you want. I knew that I wanted my image to be my focal point, so I worked around that to ensure not to cover it.

Since the number 5 was an additional theme, I made sure that I used it several times. You…
