613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes

It is an anything goes challenge over at 613 Avenue Create this week. So No excuses not to play along. Our sponsor this week is the wonderfully talented Rick St. Dennis.

Theme:  Anything Goes

I got out my distress inks and stencil this time around and put together this wonderful background. I used some texture paste to give some texture to the card and used my daubers to add the color.

Here is a closer look at this little girl. You can tell she is very fashionable!

The sentiment is from Created with TLC.

I even put some fun designer paper on the back of the card. (OK so I had to cover up some ink smudges.)

So get out those supplies and lets see what you can come up this week for our anything goes challenge!

Crafter's Cafe - Use RED

I am back with another Challenge over at Crafter's Cafe. Now I know Valentine's Day has passed, but our theme this week is to use RED, so hopefully you have not put away that stash yet.

Theme: Use Red
Sponsor: Rick St. Dennis

I have made a couple of cards using this fun little image. I made a really cute one about 10 days ago using some purples...not realizing what our theme was. Doh! Oh well, it made for a cute card anyway.

This is a fun little image created by our sponsor Rick St. Dennis. He has some wonderful images, so we sure hope you pop over to his shop and check out what he has to offer.  And who knows, if you play along, you just may win some of his fabulous works of art!

I learned a little trick this time around. Some of the detail is so fine, I found it somewhat difficult to color. But I had read that some people print out the image large, color it and then scan and shrink it down. Now how amazing is that? I just love new techniques.

So hopefully I have inspired you to play along! Sure hope to see you over at Crafter's Cafe!

Colorful Chic Valentine

Hi everyone. Hope you are all having a great Monday. I played a bit with my alcohol inks over the weekend so I thought I would share a cute little Valentine I put together. This image is from Rick St. Dennis called Charlotte Chic Valentine. He has some fabulous images. I really love to work with them, even though sometimes they do intimidate me.

Now when I say intimidate, I mean that I don't think my coloring does his digi's justice. His images have so much detail and images like those are sometimes hard for me to color. I think this one came out pretty good though. What do you think?

Just love the fun vibrant color. She looked Parisian to me, so I added a little sentiment from So Suzy Stamps called Je t'aime.

Thanks for stopping by!

613 Avenue Create - Snowflakes

It is Sunday and that means another challenge over at 613 Avenue Create
.
Theme: Snowflakes
Sponsor: Rick St. Dennis
Image: Frosty

I just love RSD images. They are so fun to work with. They have so much detail, and he is a wonderful artist! If you have never checked out him art, you should really take a moment to do so.

I typically don't make to many white on white cards, but for a snowflake theme, I decided to do so. I purchased a new embossing folder with snowflakes and used it for this challenge.

Now I know it is just a few days before Christmas, but we would sure love it if you sneak away and play along! We would love to see all your snowflakes...

Pumpkin Witches

We are getting closer to Hallows Eve, no telling what kinds of witches and goblins we will see. So as a preview of what we may see on Halloween night I decided to share a little Pumpkin which for my inspiration over at Crafter's Cafe.

Theme: Image with a Hat
Sponsor: Rick St. Dennis

Here is the inside:

This image is called Pumpkin witch - I have had the opportunity to work with several of Rick's images recently and he is quickly becoming one of my favorite digi artists. I love his style and his images make such great cards.

If yo have a chance, pop over to his store. He has some really fun images for all occasions.
so hopefully my Pumpkin witch has inspired you to play along. Don't forget, we want to see lots of hats! Hope to see you there.

Avenue 613 Create - New Design Team

I am excited to announce that I have been chosen as a Designer over at Avenue 613 Create. I am thrilled to be part of this new Design Team and look forward to inspiring you along the way. What is great about this team is we get to choose the image we want to work with. Whoa, how fantastic is that?

For my very first challenges, the theme is "Use Your Stash." Now that is just another way to say Anything goes because if you are a crafter, you definitely have stash.

I got to use a digi image from an designer I had never worked on before. The image is called "Morning Goddess" When I saw this image I knew it was the one. I love making Coffee Cards....
Our sponsor and talented Artist is Rick St. Dennis. You can click on the images to check out his other fun images.
Morning Goddess

Now you may not want to admit it, but some of us look just like that before our morning coffee. Here is what I came up with.

All the paper is left over from my Valentine's Day cards. The die cut is from Spellbinders, Asian Accents and gems from my stash. The little Coffee Cup Button is from A Piece of Heart and is attached with a wobble.

Here is a closer look:

The skin and the browns are colored using my Copic Markers. The rest of the image is colored using my Chromatix Markers.

So why not play along? Hop on over to Avenue 613 Create for more info and be sure to check out the other Design Teams projects. I am sure they would love to hear from you.
