March Tonic Kit - Sweet Sentiments

Hello everyone! This month was my first month receiving the subscription kit from Tonic Studios. I typically do not join monthly subscriptions mainly because I don't want to pay for something I don't want.

But I have to say, I was very happy with the kit this month. It was called Sweet Sentiments and the name fit the theme for sure.

I have an unboxing video for you below along with 6 cards that I created using my supplies in the kit. 

This month's set had some great sentiments dies and some sentiments stamps that coordinate beautifully with the dies. 

The dies work to create stand alone sentiments which you can add onto your card or you can cut them directly into your top panel  and add additional layering like I did with the Just Because card. 

I also shared a technique using the new glue pen and some deco foil to create the grungy background on my dream big card. I just love this technique and it creates a great background.

Tonic Studios Dimensions - Eric & Erin Elf

Hello friends! I am here today to share with you another Christmas Card I created using one of the Dimensions Die Cuts from Tonic Studios.

For this piece, I used several of the Tim Holtz idea-ology collection along with a printable from VectoriaDesigns.

To begin with, I cut out a piece of heavy weight red card stock 4.75" x 6.75" and frayed the edges with my distressing tool. I then cut out a piece of the red and white striped Deco Art Paper a few cm smaller than my base.

Using my big shot, I cut out an oval frame using my oval die cut and floral frame. I added a tag I printed from VectoriaDesigns just off to the left of my oval frame. I added some washi tape to my base, then adhered my oval frame and tag.

I already had my elf put together, so I adhered him to my frame.

With my focal piece in place, it was ready for some layers...

I added some ephemera as well as one of the Tim Holtz Holiday Flash cards. To age the flash card, I did sand it down. I also added a believe metal token.

I also add a metal plaquette and a Christmas quote chip.

Friday the 13th Video Hop - Halloween theme!

Hello friends! It is Friday the 13th and we thought it would be fun to put together a video hop to share with you some Halloween creations.

So I decided to create a No-Stamp Halloween card using some die cuts, ephemera and metal embellishments.

The Pumpkin Scene die is from tonic studios and is a perfect focal point. To see how I created this card you can click on my video below.

I had a few Halloween word bands left in my Halloween stash so I decided to use the "Bone Collector" word Band. It matched up perfect with the skeleton Halloween ephemera.

Tim Holtz Stamp Platform

Hi Everyone! I am here today to share with you the new tool recently added to the Tim Holtz Collection called the Stamp Platform.  This is a precision Stamping tool which enables you to have perfect stamping every single time.

Many of us have been introduced to precision stamping by some of the other platforms out in the market. I am not here today to compare this platform with any of the other platforms, but intend to show you some of the features you can find on this tool.

I have put together a video to introduce you to the stamp Platform and give you a basic introduction of what it does.

Mixed Media Dragon Fly Card

Today I am sharing with you my process for creating a mixed media card. I am using several mediums and a Dragonfly Stamp & Die Set from Tonic Studios.

I created a process video to show you what I did to created one of the cards pictured above.  Be sure to check out the video listed below. 

I used the Dragonfly Stamp & Die set from Tonic Studios to create both of these cards. While they are both created using mixed media products, they are slightly different. 

I decorated the dragonfly using Nuvo Drops as well. The background was created using acrylic paint and Magicals from Lindsey's Gang. 

Texture paste and a two stencils were used to create this background. The dragon fly has been colored using Magicals and a background stamp from Finnabair.
