Hi everyone! Today I am sharing a mixed media canvas I have been working on for a while. While I can sit down and create a layered card with no problem at all, creating a wall canvas is a bit more challenging for me.
I can't tell you how many times I fuss with my layout trying to figure out the perfect place for all my embellishments. So let me walk you through what i did.
The canvas background was created with magicals and clear gesso. The moisture of the gesso moves the magical powder perfectly. I used a larger paint brush to get the streaks. I wanted my canvas to have a distinct sky and grass area.
Next I added some clear washi tissue tape and adhered it with some distress collage medium. I also added some the tall base swirls to the corners from Architextures.
I next added some texture paste using the tiles stencil from Tim Holtz. Next I glued down my straws using tombow glue.
The picture frame was picked up on clearance at my local Michael's store. I removed the backing and added some Tim Holtz collage paper. I also die cut the butterfly using velum and the layered butterfly die from tonic studios.
Once I had my focal point in place, it was just a matter of adding embellishments. I used paper flowers from some chipboard from Prima Marketing. The white leaves were from an old Martha Stewart pack I had in my stash I also added some white pearls.
Finally I added my sentiment "Today Is Full Of Possibilities" which is from the Tim Holtz Quote Chips pack and a couple of butterflies.
I hope that you enjoyed my project. While these don't come as easy as cards, I really get a lot of satisfaction and joy out of the finished project.
Thanks for stopping by.
