What is the biggest lie you tell yourself?

Hey everyone. The Ink Spot design team is back to share with you some funny cards we hope to make you laugh!  There are so many Funny Bone stamps to choose from, it was not difficult to pick one for this challenge.

This background was created using the new Tim Holtz Distress crayons and a stamp from The Funny Bones collection called "The biggest lie."

Don't forget that Stamper's Ink now offers a monthly kit. You can find more information by clicking on the Tickle My Funny Bones Card Club link.

Faux Clipboard

Hi everyone, it's Monica from Taylormadecards4u and  I am here today to share with you this faux clipboard I made using some chip board and the Deflecto Sign tag,

I wanted to create something that I could stick on the fridge that would not be too heavy. Not only did I want to be able to write little notes, but I wanted to be able to attach notes as well.

I started out with some chipboard and covered it using designer paper. I I embossed the top of the sign tag and glued it to my chipboard. I added 4 brads on each corner to help keep it secure and aesthetics.

I decorated the board by adding some plastic letters to spell out Notes and some coffee ribbon at the bottom. Finally, I attached my clip to the top to finish off the clipboard design.

The details make the card

I have been making cards for over 5 years now, and like many of you, my focus to detail is usually on the front cover of the card. We take our time to make sure our papers match and that our image is stamped perfectly.  We add our embellishments and many times finish it off with a sentiment.

It wasn't until recently that a friend reminded me about how simple small details can turn a good card into a great card. We take such care in making the outside beautiful, we forget to finish the inside. How wonderful would it be to not only get a beautiful card and open it up and see that the inside matches. Not only is it beautiful, but the extra card stock adds to the weight of the card to make it very sturdy.

Justine also reminded me this month with her series to create matching envelopes. It takes very little extra effort to stamp the envelope. Afterall, we already have the ink and the stamp out right?

But it is the subtle touches as well. The green leaves I added to the vines, the three butterflies that pop. They turn a good card into a great card.

So it is good to step back and evaluate your work, or better yet, ask a friend, what could I do to turn a good card into a great card? I am really glad that I did!

Morning Person...NOT!

The coffee lovers blog hop continues! I believe this is my third card, and a bit how I feel each morning. I am definitely NOT a morning person, so thank goodness for COFFEE!

I have had this fun image in my digi stash for a while and thought it would be fun to finally color it up. It is a hoot for sure.

I used distress ink for my sun rays, then sprayed it with some ink. I wasn't sure if I liked the results, but now that I look at it, it looks like she threw her coffee at the sun!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day! Get that cup of coffee going!

Castle's of Ireland

Hello, Monica here today!

When I got this frame, the first thing I thought about was some of the pictures I have of the rolling green countryside hills of Scotland.  I knew the Deflecto 4" x 6" Green Craft Frame would compliment my pictures perfectly.

I decorated the frame with some rub ons and jewels to add to the Irish theme I was going for.

Message to Mom...BE...

I am still playing with the Adhesive Rub On's from Prima as well as the Deco Foil. The set that I am working with is called "Loved Words."  When I first started playing with this new toy, I didn't realize I was going to be making a set of three "BE" cards, but that is the way it turned out.

And I certainly didn't think that these would turn into Mother's Day Cards. But sometimes you find the perfect sentiment to go with a card and a light bulb goes off.  Some may not agree, but we are our mothers. In some ways right? So I thought these would be a great message to share with our Moms.

Be Yourself! That is who we love and growing up this was a constant message in my household. Don't try to be someone else, BE YOURSELF!

BE STRONG! You can still be strong and cry, or even be vulnerable. It is the strength within that makes us who we are today.

And finally, BE LOVE! Unconditionally, we give love and we receive love from our Mothers!

I hope you like my "BE" Set and thanks for stopping by!

Mosaic Background

Hi everyone! Day 3 of the Coffee Lover's blog hop. And today I decided to create a mosaic background for my coffee card.

The stencil I used to create this background is from dylusions, which is part of the Ranger family. It is tine triangles, but when used with colored texture paste looks just like a mosaic design.

For this project, I used Black Texture paste by ART©. The paste comes in a set of three.  I wanted to go for a black and white theme, but it is also available in other colors.

I also used for the first time the Adhesive Rub on's and Black foil that I picked up from So Suzy Stamps.   These are both new products in her store.

I have listed the supplies I used below to create this project and links were you can get them. Hope you are enjoying the hop!
