Celebrating 70

Good Morning and happy Monday! I wanted to share a very special card I made over the weekend. My Mother in Law is celebrating her 70th birthday today. She is the person that got me interested in card making several years ago and now it is hard to believe I probably have more toys that she does.

I have been experimenting with book cards, so thought this was a great opportunity to make one.

I wanted to make it a keepsake, with pull out cards that we could each write a little message on. The Pocket worked well to house those cards.

I used a combination of stamps, stickers and rub-ons to decorate the inside of the card. The date stamp is new, I just picked it up at Tuesday Morning yesterday. I have a feeling it will be getting a lot of use.

The paper itself was so decorative, I really did not need to add much to decorate the side flaps.

I made an extra side pocket to house a gift card.

It was a huge success!

This is a very simple design. It really is the embellishments that add to the card. I think the hardest part about putting this card together is getting the paper all the same size so that it matts perfectly on the card frame. I have purchased some 6" x 6" designer pads and am going to try those out. I figure these are pre cut, so they have to already all be the same size. I will be sure to let you know how it goes.

Hope you liked my project and MOM...hope you have a Very Happy Birthday!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
