Birthday Month Bash - And I'm celebrating with PRIZES!

I am turning 50 this month and I decided to celebrate all month long with all my crafty friends.

I told my husband I did not want a party...but I will throw a link up party and you are all invited.

Now I know I am supposed to get gifts for my birthday, but I thought it would be fun to GIVE some gifts as well as a thank you for all your support in my JOURNEY.

I will also be celebrating on some of my other Social Media sites listed below with some pop up prizes. So be sure to follow along there as well.

Now of course I had to create a card to share my journey in my crafting. Now I can sit back and enjoy the moment!

A few of my crafty friends have joined me early to help get the party started, and to give you some ideas for your link ups. Be sure to visit their blog and give them love as well!  Drop me a line in the comments to let me know you did so that I can enter you into a special drawing as well!

So we don't have any party fouls, here are the party rules:

1.  Look at the mood board and find something that reminds you of a JOURNEY.
  • A Journey through life
  • Your Art Journey
  • A Journey you recently took
2. Create a project and link it up. This can be a card, canvas or anything that inspires you and in any style. Don't have a blog? Never fear. Just Private message me through my Facebook page and send me your photo and I will link it up for you! I want all my crafty friends to be able to play along!

3.  Follow my blog & like my Facebook page

4. Leave me a comment

I would also love it if you help me spread the word.  Create a blog post using the graphic and a link back here.  Don't forget to link your project for a chance to be entered into the drawing for my prize giveaways.

Cityscapes - I Brake For Stamps

I Love the look of Cityscapes on a background, and I think it pairs up perfectly with a Silhouette Stamp!

Today I am sharing with you another image from The Fashion Silhouette set over at I Brake for Stamps.

The background is from the Travel Sheet which not only has this Cityscape, but some other fantastic travel related stamps as well.

I stamped the image using the Iced Spruce Distress Oxide Ink. I wanted to see just how detailed this ink would stamp! WOW! I was pleasantly surprised at the details I was able to capture using this ink on this stamp.

The Cityscape was stamped using Jet Black Archival ink and the sentiment is from the Tim Holtz Metallic Stickers set call Quotations.

Wedding Cards

While Weddings are traditional, Wedding cards do not have to be. Many of the wedding cards that I have made in the past have been white and typically have a bride and groom.

But I wanted to create an elegant, vintage inspired card that focused on the couple and their special day. Something that they could put in their wedding album, or possibly even a frame.

Simply Stamps has a Wedding section where you can personalize your sentiment with the couples name as well as date. It turns a card into a keepsake!

I used a layering stencil to cut out some matching card stock and stamped my sentiment on the smallest square.  I layered the card stock using foam tape and embellished it with a simple ribbon.

I plan on giving the couple this stamp to use on their Thank You Cards. It will be a fun keepsake to add to their memory box.

Creating a Vintage Post Card

It is week 4 of my birthday Bash! I decided to create a Vintage Post card this week inspired by a vintage air mail envelope I found at an antique shop.  I have shared these air mail envelopes before, but they continue to inspire me.

You can see my process by clicking on the video below.  I am using some Distress ink along with a stamp set from Stampers Anonymous to create my post card.

I have listed all the supplies that I used to create this post card in the links below.

Create Something Remarkable - I Brake For Stamps

Hi everyone. Did you know today is my birthday? I have been celebrating all month long on my blog and You tube channel. I sure hope you have been joining along in the festivities.

I thought this sentiment, Create Something Remarkable, was the perfect sentiment for today and you can find it over at I Brake for Stamps.

Now of course I had to create a remarkable background to go with this awesome sentiment. The stamp that I used to create the background is called Ruler Background and it is REMARKABLE!

I started out by using a stencil called Morroccan Lattice from Kaisercraft and Mustard Seed Distress Ink. I had some ruler washi tape in my stash that worked as a great compliment for this stamp.

I added the washi tape, then came in with the Ruler Background stamp to complete the background.  I then used a tim holtz dots stencil along with some Black Soot distress crayon to add the finishing touches to the background.

MHK Designer Inspiration - Black and White Note set

Hi everyone. I am here today with my Designer inspiration for MHK Designs. I am using one of my favorite sets called "The Write Stuff".

Many people may not know that not only am I am paper crafter, but I sew as well. My sewing machine has been put away for awhile, but recently I have been inspired to bring it out of the closet and start incorporating my sewing into my paper crafting.

I was at a local fabric shop recently as saw this cute fabric. I just couldn't resist it as I know I had the perfect digital images to create a note card set.  I think they are a pretty cute pair, what do you think?

Mid Month Birthday Bash Reminder

Hey everyone! Just popping in with a mid month reminder about my birthday Bash link up party. There is still time to join in and link your card up for an entry into the drawing.

You can find all the details along with the list of prizes over at my Birthday Bash Post.

For my inspiration, I shared my card, but I didn't tell you that I had also created a matching canvas.

The brick wall was so easy to create using my Naturally Aged Paint System from Tattered Angels. Tattered Angels is one of the Canvas Corp Brand product and they are one of my sponsors in my birthday celebration.

I do have a process video where you can see the step by step process in creating this brick wall.

There are 4 steps to this process, but the results are definitely worth the effort.
