Gingerbread House

Hi everyone! Well as you probably know by now, I am celebrating all month long with my Christmas in July. I am also guest designing over on the Brutus Monroe blog so I thought it would be fun to incorporate some of his stamps into my series.

Today i am working with the stamp set called Gingerbread Village. This set is so cute and there are so many possibilities with it. Let me show you what I created.

I made a few cards using this stamp set and the first time I stamped everything on white card stock and colored in the images using my copic markers. But I know that everyone does not have copic markers, so I decided to show you another way to get around a lot of the coloring.

Kraft Card stock is the perfect color for gingerbread. So I stamped my house and gingerbread man onto some kraft card stock.  Before fussy cutting the images, I adhered some double sided adhesive so that I could create stickers.  I find with smaller images, it is easier to use double sided adhesive that way I know they will have a strong adhesive.

I used my red copic marker to color in the candy canes and chimney and my green copic marker for my wreath.  For the white, i used Faber-Castell Pitt artist pen. I matted the white card stock onto some black card stock.

Then I took another piece of white card stock and created a red and white checkered border using washi tape. I adhered my black card stock onto this piece.

The scarf, hat and boots adhered to my little gingerbread man so easily as stickers. I highly recommend this when working with smaller objects.

I adhered this panel onto my card base and as a final touch added clear Nuvo drops over the white snow to make it glisten.

Here is a closer look.

Thanks for stopping by!
