Hey everyone! I have been using rub Ons for a while now. I first got started using the Tim Holtz remnant rubs, then progressed on to others.
So when Suzy started carrying the Prima Adhesive Rub-Ons I was very excited. I didn't really understand how the Deco Foil came into play, but I was loving some of the cards I was seeing using it.
Now, I tend to be a "fly by the seat of my pants" kinda crafter. And I have to admit sometimes it works for me, but sometimes I fumble as well. I had never seen the Deco Foil demonstrated, so I wasn't quite sure how to use it. I knew you had to rub it onto the adhesive Rub-Ons, so how difficult could that be right?
Well, honestly, it is NOT difficult at all, as long as you rub it with the color side up and not face down. I don't usually share my fumbles, but wanted to share with you that even the best of us do fumble. Once I realized what I was doing wrong (Thanks You-Tube), there was no stopping me.
The new stamp Imagine works so well with many of the Adhesive Rub-Ons and I really wanted to have the sentiment overlay the foil. I wasn't sure if you could stamp over the Deco Foil, but I wanted to give it a shot. It worked great!
After I stamped it several times using my MISTI, I did add some clear embossing powder. This made the sentiment more glossy, like the foil, and ensured the words stood out. I also pulled out some of my other remnant rubs and added little quotes to each of my cards. They are small, but you can see them around the edges if you look closely.
I often tell people there are no rules in creating. It has taken me a while to get to that point, but as I get more confident in my abilities, I do get bolder. I used to think to myself, "what if I mess up." Now I think to myself..."this is going to be awesome." And you know what? If it is not, I throw it away and start over, but many times it truly is awesome!
Supplies I used:
Oh, my, my, my, my. Just gorgeous. Especially love that heart card. Just beautiful
