Earth, Nature, Life

Evening all! Well, my make and take Christmas card party was a success. Everyone seemed to have a good time...and I sold lots of cards and got several orders. Now when I sell cards, I get to buy toys. So I took a little of my stash and bought some spellbinder die cuts. I was dying to play with my new toys, so I pulled out my crayons, as my husband calls them, and put on my creative cap.  Ike's world had Winter Robin as a  freebie so I thought I would give it a try. So here is what I came up with:

Here is what I did:

I used brown card stock for the base of my card. Matted it with card stock I had in my stash. I am not sure where I got it, but I knew I had it and would work perfect for a nature card. I used my Spellbinders - Classic Scalloped Squared to cut out my brown card stock and grunge'd it up with my sandpaper.
I then tacked it down with 4 brads and added my handmade flowers and sentiments.

My LIFE tag worked perfectly with the overall Nature theme along with my handmade flowers and leaves. I added the green gems in the middle of the flower to finish it off.

I was so excited about my finished card, that I didn't realize Ike's current theme is "It Feels Like Winter.". YIKES. Well, I guess this could be a winter theme. Well, I am going to enter it anyway, as I did use the Freebie and I think the card came out Great. Perhaps I will make another one and this time color my Robin Red.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Well, I guess I better get back to work and complete those orders! Have a great evening everyone.

  6. Hey, weren't we just talking talking about Ike's World?! I'm so glad to see that you had the opportunity to enter the challenge. I had to chuckle when I came across the line where you forgot it was supposed to be winter. I've done that myself in challenges only as a DT member. It is interesting the ideas we can come up with to make our cards fit the challenge -- at least in our own minds anyways. As far as yours go, I can see a the fading of winter into a muddy mess so works for me. Great effect you achieved with the sanding and your colouring is fantastic.

Thanks for joining us this fortnight over at Ike's World Challenges. I hope you will consider coming back and playing with us again soon. Good luck in the draw.
