STAMPlorations 5th Birthday Celebration

Image
Hi everyone! It's my turn today for the celebration of STAMPlorations 5th birthday.  I hope you have been joining in the fun over on the STAMPlorations blog. We have been celebrating all month long with lots of prizes and inspiration!

So our task was to pick 3 of my favorite STAMPlorations cards [that I created], and then make a new one. Some of my favorites were easy to pick, but others I struggled with. There are so many great stamps to work with it is hard to pick a favorite, let alone 3.
So here are my picks:

My first one is from the Faerie Door stamp set. This set has some wonderful images that gives you so many options for your creations!

Now of course I had to pick this one because I love butterflies. My sentiments come from the Bold Sentiments collection and this one is called Explore

Finally, my third pick is from the True North stamp set. Ahhh, I just love the inspirational quotes on this one!

Now I couldn't just make one card for the birthday bash, so I made two! I ha…

Pocket Tags

Image
Hi everyone! I am here today to share with you a pocket tag that I created using my new tim holtz Pocket die.  I have been having so much fun creating little tickets with my ticket booth stamps and die set, I needed a little pouch to display them. What better than a pocket tag.

If you would like to see how I created these tags, be sure to check out my video below.

The paper that I used for my tags was the tim holtz correspondence pad.  I also used some fun ephemera and I even added my ATC-Coin to one of the slots.

I added a metal clasp and a token that can either hang loose or be tucked into one of the slots.

For my second tag, I decided to use a metal word band. These tags were so fun to make, I decided to put together a couple of kits so that you can give them a try.
My kit is available in my etsy shop and you will get enough material to make two tags. You can find the link to the kit below along with all the products to create your own tags.

Freedom!

Image
Hi everyone and happy Monday! It's Monica from Taylormadecards4u. With the 4th of July just around the corner, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite stamps to use for Independence Day! This is a stamp that I have had for a while, but it is classic and I love it!

The image is called Liberty Bell and from I Brake For Stamps. It is perfect for your 4th of July celebration cards.  I colored and fussy cut the Liberty Bell and adhered it to a colorful background.  The sentiment is simple and says it all...FREEDOM!

CAS Thank You Card

Image
Hi everyone and happy Monday! I have been a little under the weather for the last few days and my creativity has suffered. So I decided to keep it simple this week and create a CAS thank you card.

The Thank so much stamp is from theInspirational Plate #2 set and the purple flower stamp is called grunge lettered flower. This card came together very easily. I stamped the flowers using wilted violet distress oxide ink and the thank so much sentiment with Black archival ink.  To finish off the card I added some black Nuvo Crystal drops.

Artist Trading Coins

Image
Artist Trading Coins seem to be the new craze. I came across this idea on a few videos I watched on You tube.  These little coins were perfect to use up some of my small Tim Holtz Paper dolls.

To see how I created the background and the production of these Artist Trading Coins, you can check out the video below.

The background technique is very easy to create. I was able to add several layers of metallic acrylic paint and also created some texture using embossing folders, in a non traditional way.

These coins not only can be used for trading, they can be great additions to your cards, journals and more.

Non Traditional Wedding card

Image
Hi crafty friends. I am here today to share with you a wedding card I created for the just cards video hop. Now this is probably not the type of wedding card you are use to, but I wanted to give you some ideas for an outside of the box, not traditional wedding card.

To see how I created the card, you can click on the video below.

I am using two sets of stamps for this card. The first one is used for my background and is from PaperArtsy and is designed by Seth Apter. The second one is the silhouette bride and it is from I Brake for stamps.

This card is part of a video hop, so if you want more inspiration, you will find the links to the other videos over on my you tube channel.

Lucky is a state of mind

Image
Hello and happy Monday! I am here sharing this fun birthday card that I have had in my mind for a while. I found these little poker chip stickers at a craft sale and they have been sitting in my stash waiting for the perfect card.

When I saw this playing cards background from I Brake for Stamps, I knew exactly what I would do. While the stamp is one piece, it is easy stamped and cut to make four playing cards.  I added distress oxide ink to make the cards look old and added this funny image from half sheet 046.
It is a very simple design, but so fun and will make a perfect birthday card. Be sure to check out this section and don't forget if you use my coupon code SAVE10MONICA, you will get 10% off.

Let's go Fishin!

Image
Hello crafty friends. A few weeks ago i brought out my alcohol inks and was playing around with them. Now when you bring out those, typically you are going to want to make several backgrounds. They are a bit messy, so you may as well get the most out of them.
This background is one of the left overs and has been sitting on my desk for a bit.  I thought it kind of looked like a murky pond, so it was time to get out the fishes!
The stamp set i am using is a fun one from I Brake for Stamps. it is called Luncheon meat.

This stamp set works great stamped over alcohol inks, but is also fun to color. I also used some clear nuvo drops for the water droplets which made a nice addition.

They layout was fairly simple. I used one of my nesting die cuts to cut around the image then matted it onto two pieces of coordinating cardstock.
This stamp is a great summer stamp and would also make a fun Father's Day Card. Be sure to check out this section and don't forget if you use my coupon code SAVE…
