So Suzy Stamps - Elegant Bride and Groom

It is the last day of 2014. I am sure lots of people will be out celebrating tonight so I thought I would post a card with a theme that is always a celebration.

Image: Wedding Dress
Image:  Groom

We (the design team) have been sharing our projects all month long over at So Suzy Stamps! It has been our pleasure. I am honored to share this last card of December and 2014 with you.

When I saw these two stamps, I knew I had to make a card using both of them together. They fit so well, the curve of the wedding leaves just enough room to fit the Groom stamp.

I wanted to go with the traditional black and white and found some wonderful paper that compliments these two very elegant stamps.  After I stamped the images, I embossed them with clear embossing powder.

A big white bow and Bride and Groom label finishes off the card.

Now if you are going out tonight to celebrate the coming of the new year, please be safe. A new challenge will begin in January, so be sure to check back with us to see what we have in store for you over at So Suzy Stamps in 2015!

Oh, and don't forget, So Suzy Stamps can also be found on  InstagramFacebookPinterest and Twitter

A Country Scene

I can't believe that I have not shared with you since Christmas Eve. It has been so nice being off work and hanging out with the family. I have not crafted too much over the last few days, but i did find some time today to play in my playroom

I love working with alcohol inks, but when I do, it turns into an inky mess. When I work with glossy paper, I have to be very careful as the stamped images can smear so easily.  I typically color up several 8 x 10 glossy sheets with various alcohol inks and then cut them up and start stamping away. Not every image comes out perfect, but I do find the ones that do work, the colors are amazing.

I love how the background looks like clouds, but the colors also work great for the two ducks swimming in the lake.

I stamped out a few other images as well that I hope to be able to share with you later in the week. they are off to the side drying and I hope to make cards out of them over the next few days.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas or which ever holiday you may celebrate and that you have had some time to spend with family and friends.

So Suzy Stamps - Feel Better Soon

Hi everyone. I am here today to share another card I made with one of the new releases over at So Suzy Stamps. Can you believe Christmas is tomorrow? It has been a busy month. But not too busy to be able to share another card with you!

Nobody likes to be under the weather, but this fun little card is sure to brighten anyone's day. These silhouette stamps make such fun cards. Now the thing about silhouette stamps, is if they do not have a crisp sharp image, they will not stamp well. I think that is why I love So Suzy Stamps so much. You get a sharp printed image when using her stamps!

For this card, I used a simple A2 card and fitted a banner to it. The paper I used is from Crate Paper and is called Flea Market. The two stamps I used are called Feel Better Fairies and Feel Better.  I finished off my card with ribbon and a bow.

Very simple, but sure does the trick!

Now, we only have a few more days left in this months challenge. If you have not linked up yet, there is still time. You could win a $15.00 Gift Certificate to So Suzy Stamps. You can get to the December challenge here.

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! I will be back doing one more post before the new year...hmm what should I make next?

It is Sunday and that means another challenge over at 613 Avenue Create
Theme: Snowflakes
Sponsor: Rick St. Dennis
Image: Frosty

I just love RSD images. They are so fun to work with. They have so much detail, and he is a wonderful artist! If you have never checked out him art, you should really take a moment to do so.

I typically don't make to many white on white cards, but for a snowflake theme, I decided to do so. I purchased a new embossing folder with snowflakes and used it for this challenge.

Now I know it is just a few days before Christmas, but we would sure love it if you sneak away and play along! We would love to see all your snowflakes...

Creative Knockouts - Winter Wonderland

Hello and happy Thursday!  I am here today to share with you my very last card as a member of the Design Team over at Creative Knockouts.

Theme:  Winter Wonderland
Image:  Cocoa's Gift

It has been a fun ride over at Creative Knockouts, but it is time for me to step down, but not before I share with you my last card.

This image is called Cocoa's Gift and is a cute little Mouse popping out of  a gift package. I colored and fussy cut the image and stuck it right to my card stock. No decorative papers this time around.

I stamped the North Pole sign and some snowflakes and presents around the image to create my Winter Wonderland.

I hope I have inspired you to play along! I sure would love to see your version of a Winter Wonderland!

Christmas Book

Hello everyone. I have been holding back on sharing this project with you as I wanted to do it as close to Christmas as possible. I start my vacation next week and will not go back to work again until January 5th.

I get to start my wonderful vacation by having a wisdom tooth pulled. I am not looking forward to that at all and will probably be down and out for a few days.  So I thought this day was as good as any to share my project.

This is the second Christmas book I made this year, and I sold both of them at craft shows!

I loved making them, but boy they are a lot of work. Now when I say work, I do mean fun work. There are so many pages to decorate and design, and my craft room looks like a tornado hit it when I am done.

I created a pocket page to insert a gift card or fun tag. I thought this may be used as a gift so wanted to make room for a little extra insert.

With both books, I created matted pages which would be perfect to add pictures. My other thought that this may be used as a holiday album keepsake where a few holiday pictures could b e added.

Journaling is also very important. Many people forget to document the event, I  made sure I left plenty of room for journaling. I created a Naughty page and a Nice page.

I also included a little December calendar. I thought that was a nice touch.

Here are a couple more matted pages for pictures. The one below is light enough where you could even write a little paragraph or funny story, if one so chooses.

Well, I hope that you like my share. I was foolish and did not take pictures of my first one before it got sold, I made sure I took pictures of this one right away. I am hoping to make a few more of these in 2015. I figure the more I make, the better they will be.

I would love to hear your thoughts on my Christmas book. Thanks for stopping by.

I would like to enter my Christmas book into the following challenges:

Did you know that Imagine that now has a new monthly challenge? I have participated in her monthly Stamp of the Month progressive challenges, but now she has a challenge where you can use any digi from Imagine That.

Paper: Holly Boughs

It is perfect timing as I needed to make one more Christmas Card. Also, a perfect opportunity to showcase my Cross over card for The 12 Months of Christmas Link up. The digital paper is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles and worked great with the paper I had in my stash.

I also had these fun little brads of holly that framed this cute little image perfectly. This will be my last card that I enter into the Link up and my last chance to win the wonderful prize she is offering up. Wish me luck!

Path of Positivity - Faith

Can you believe we are already in December...where has the year gone?
So I am here to kick off the last challenge in 2014 for Path of Positivity

Theme: Faith

December typically is a month where we think a lot about our faith, so it fits in perfectly this month as our theme.

December is a month where we count our blessings and think about our Faith.

We all celebrate our faith in different ways not only with family, but personally as well.

This sentiment is from Ginger's House and was a perfect addition for my card and this challenge.

So hopefully you will find time in your busy schedule to share with us this month, we would love to hear your story and see your creation on "Faith."

Destination Adventure!

I have been wanting to create a project for the current challenge going on over at Simon Says Monday challenge. I finally had some time today to play in my craft room.

If you follow me, you know I have made a few passport cards. Well, what better design to use than a passport card for a Transportation theme.

I had a 6" x 6" cardstock set by Momenta that was a travel theme. I knew that I would make a passport card using this cardstock, it was just finding the time.

Some of the other items I used were some of my Tim Holtz Idea Ology items along with a stamp set from Fiskars called Travel Ledger.

I have several more ideas for some passport cards. I plan on making several next year. Hopefully you will stop by and check them out.

Altered Memory Box

Hi everyone! It has been a couple of days since I have checked in, so I thought I would share a project with you I made about a bit ago, but have not had time to blog about it.

There is a local cigar shop just down the street from me that sells me his empty cigar boxes. I thought they would be great to alter and use for little storage boxes and house some of my cards. I am thinking about making some card sets as well.

I have never done decoupage before, so this was NEW to me, but I thought it would be fun to try since I love layering so much. I started by painting the box using Forest Moss distress paint. The paper stack I used is from DCWV and is called The primrose Paper stack.  I used Range's Glue n Seal to adhere the paper

Here is a close look at all the embellishments I added.  I wasn't sure how the stamping would come out, but I think it looks pretty good. I used the Hampton Art 7 Gypsies cling stamps and Teresa Collins Sentiment stamps from Fiskars.

I decorated the sides of the box using Remnant rubs - Botanical life quotes.

I think the hardest part was getting the measurements just right.

I have made a list of everything I used if you want to give it a try. I have made a few more since then that I will share when the time is right. But this was my first one, and not to bad, if I do say so myself.

Supplies

Spellbinders - Lovely View Die
DCWV - The Primrose Paper stack

Catch the Bug - Holiday Chaos Recipe

As promised, I am back to share another card for the Catch the Bug Holiday Chaos Recipe challenge.
    1 image
    2 of something
    3 of something else

For this card I used 2 metal martini glasses and 3 Gems. This is a very festive image. I just love it. I have used it a few times over the last year, but definitely works for a holiday card.

OK, finally, I am all caught up with my cards. I have one more card to post tomorrow, but I don't know what the theme is yet. So hopefully you will check back sometime tomorrow or Saturday. I should have a card up by then.

    Tootles!

Catch the Bug Holiday Chaos - Sparkle

I feel like a kid in a toy shop...so many blog hops, and not enough time to play in all of them! I thought I was doing so well this year with my cards, then all of a sudden blog hops start popping up and I am making cards to play in those.

I know, I can have some self discipline, but it's Christmas time, isn't that a time to be frivolous? Well, I have two more posts to put up today, then I MUST get to other things!

I made this card for a class that I taught this month, but had not had time to post. It worked perfect for one of the days over at Catch the Bug Holiday Chaos link up.

I missed the link up last year due to travel, so I wanted to make sure I played along this year! I'll be back in a bit with one more card, then I promise, I am finished for the day! LOL.
